Network Marketing or Multi-Level Marketing is not only a sales business. Yes, you must sell product or get people on your service. However, this should not be done with a sales mindset. What do you think about the person that sold you your car, house, or life insurance?

1. Network Marketing Is A "Relationship" Business.
You absolutely must build relationships in this kind of business. People don't care about your company or the "best opportunity out there". They simply care about how you can help them solve their problems.
People join people not companies. People simply could care less if your company is debt-free or has the most lucrative compensation plan. They don't even care if you know the company's history. There's a saying that goes: people don't care how much you know until they know how much you care.
People looking at your business want to know if you can help them and if they can trust you. Will you be able to assist them towards their goal? You must have a servant's heart.
If you have good customer service and a great relationship, they won't cancel because the company took too long to do this or someone didn't call them back right away. They will stay on because they trust that what you promoted to them would overall benefit them like you said it would.
For example, even though McDonalds' doesn't have the best food, they are pretty successful, right? McDonalds' knows that just because a worker messes up an order that they won't lose a customer. Why? Because, that customer has been coming to McDonalds' since they were a kid. Now that customer brings their children there. This type of relationship develops over time and the same goes for your business.
Imagine…you own your own franchise and your people won’t quit because you didn’t have to sell them. They sold themselves and trust in your system. They are in long-term because you took the time to build a relationship and let the system train them.
2. Network Marketing Is NOT Just "A Numbers Game."
People are people and not numbers. It is true that you should not dwell on the people that say no. However, if you burn through your warm market with hard-sell techniques, you are only making things harder on yourself.
Do your prospects have hopes, dreams, and goals? Take the time to get to know what they are. When you want them in your business...listen. When they get in your business...listen.

It is when we take a step back from our work and realize that what we consider to be the most important element in life, our family, is getting pushed down the list of important things and being ignored altogether. When this situation has been going on for a long time, virtually undetected, some family relationships get ripped at the seams.
I will never forget the night that this very same realization happened to me some years ago. I was spending days, even weeks, on the road working hard to close bigger and bigger accounts for my sales position. One night on the road I was in my motel and received a call from my wife. She was reminding me to be home early the next day to attend my daughter's big play at her local junior high school.
There was just one problem. The next day was my chance to close a huge deal that I was working on for months. I was sideswiped when my prospect called me back that very night, before I talked with my wife. The client wanted to meet and I was in his area by chance working on another deal.
I couldn't pass it up. It meant earning an extra thousand dollars per month if I got this sale and I felt that my family was just too important to pass it up. I'm getting to the worst part now, and that is that I lied to my wife and daughter on the phone when I said that I would be there. I already knew that my work was going to come first by signing up this big account, but I didn't have it in me to tell them over the phone. I knew that I was going to sign the deal, make a lot of money, miss my daughter's big day, and then make up an excuse why I was not there.
Now considering that I was already doing very well and considered pretty successful at the time, that night was a very low point in all areas of my life. I realized then and there that I was putting aside what matters to me the most, my family. And they were loosing faith in me, not expecting me anymore, not caring, breaking away...
The next morning I woke up and realized that I wouldn't have been able to live with myself had I gone through with the appointment and missed my daughter's special event. Money cannot replace love and family. I phoned my appointment and totally expected this man to hang up on me and find another company to do business with. However, I told him the truth. I explained that my family needed me and that I understand if he wants to do his business elsewhere with someone that is more reliable.
That was the day that I made the right decision to put my work aside and be there for my family, and risk loosing the “big account” that I was after. Needless to say the business man that I had to cancel on respected what I had to say, and he even rescheduled the meeting. One week later I successfully signed the deal. Moral of the story? Put your family first, work hard in between, and success in all areas of your life will follow.

To start job searching you must first analyze yourself on what you want to be. You can be a Bum, an Entrepreneur, a Young Professional, or a Student Seeking Higher Studies. If you choose to be a Bum, Entrepreneur or a Student then you should stop reading this article and continue to pursue the career path that you chose. However, if you choose to become a Young Professional continue reading because all the information you need to get hired is in this article.
Preparation
Why do we need to prepare before job searching? Because Companies/Employers are very selective and among the numerous number of applicants they have they will choose the most deserving and who will make their company more productive. They are not looking to teach you, they are looking to get instant results from you. The other reason is competition, if you had an experience in working you may have a distinct advantage but nevertheless it is still the Companies/Employers that will have the decision when hiring an applicant.
Looking For a Company
Where do we look for a company that are hiring? A lot of companies post their job vacancy in, for example, newspaper ads, radio, TV, job fair, employment agencies, Internet, and if your University has College Placement Office they can provide you a job vacancy listing also. Another way of looking for a company is through Networking, when looking for a company you must always be resourceful; ask the people you know that is working for a company if they have an opening. When you find a company then you must prepare for the next step.
Resume
Books, magazines and the internet are the example of the resources you can get on how to make a presentable resume but the only point is be true to on what you will write. Don’t put on your resume what you do not know.
Cover Letter
Just like in making a resume there are a lot of resources in how to make a cover letter. Before you make a letter make sure that you know where to send the cover letter that you will make. It should be either on the Human Resource Supervisor or the Employer.

Making It Work From Home
Let me tell you a bit about me... I used to work as full time retail assistant 8am to 5pm and with 2 young kids I was giving most of my hard earned cash to the childcare center.
One day about 9 months ago a friend told me how she was making $300 a day for just a few hours work on her computer. I didn't believe her but she showed me how she was doing it and decided to try for myself. I started off by doing some online surveys and also selling on eBay.
Anyway, before I knew it I was earning double what I got at my normal job for just a couple of hours of my time in the evenings and weekend, needless to say I quit that day job !
Ever since then I have carried on working from home and the great thing is that I work the hours that suit me and my family. I can look after my kids during the day, I can do the housework, I can socialize and I can do anything else I want, I just fit in my online work when it suits. I have total freedom and total control over my income. If I want extra money one week I simply just put in more hours.
There are a few paid online survey companies around but if you're going to sign up with one of these it's best to go with one that has been recommended to you by someone who has used them before.
As for selling items on eBay you can source products to sell from the many wholesale directories out there but be careful, I have paid money for wholesale directories only to find that some of the suppliers don't even exist or they expect to be paid by Western Union. (never pay anyone by Western Union !) By far the greatest genuine wholesale directory if you want to source products cheaply is Salehoo.

Deciding To Start Your Own Business
What a scary thought! Who would want to make that leap of faith and start their own business? Do you really have the self confidence to do it? Take a deep breath and think about it.
If you are contemplating starting your own business, I know these thoughts are running through your head. They certainly raced through my mind when I was thinking about it. This is a decision that needs thorough thought. Don’t jump into it without thinking.
Have you thought about opening a store? The investment for an “on the street” business is great – thousands and thousands of dollars. That excludes most of us. A workable alternative is a “work at home” business. The increasing popularity of the internet has really opened up that field. The instability of so many businesses has created a need for many people to work for themselves.
It is very possible to start an “at home business” with very little investment. This allows the “little guy” (you and me) to be self-employed. If you search the web for online businesses, you will find many that do require a large initial outlay of cash. That wasn’t for me. I wanted an opportunity to start with little or no cash output and then I could determine expenditures on advertising and other things. This would allow me to control my budget. Not having a lot to spend, I was aware that it is possible to find free methods of advertising which would require more time than money.
Some people will quit their “day job” and jump into a business. I do not advise this unless you are very financially secure. I continue my full time job, devoting all the hours I can in the evenings and weekends to my new business. This takes a lot of determination! You really need a lot of self confidence to believe that this business will succeed and you will be able to do it full time in the future. You really have to want to change your lifestyle. The thought of being in control of my destiny fuels me. I am determined to succeed.

These questions have been pulled out of the air to illustrate a vital issue for consideration in your thinking and motivation when starting your own business. There are probably others that you may need to apply directly to your situation.
What matters is that as you decide to make the leap into the exciting business of becoming independent you must be clear on your motives. Your motives, their priority and your honest understanding of them will have a direct bearing on your chances of success.
The points listed under section 1 are understandable but no real foundation for starting a business. If you want to escape you will need to be very clear on what you are escaping from and where you are escaping to, you do not want to start a business only to find that you are not really suited to it?
The points made in sections 2 and 3 are more positive. Giving them and any others specific to your circumstances close consideration and priority ranking will lead to an understanding of why you want to make the change in your life. What is your motivation and what goals you are setting for yourself?
How exciting! Changing your life. It's important so let's do it properly. Clearly understand what is motivating your desire for change, when you understand that you can start to work out what type of business you are best suited to and how to go about creating it.
